Our very own David Gyde from Amicus is giving us his view on this article written by Consilium.
David says “The concept of “paying yourself first” is extremely good advice. Having money taken out of your pay and have it deposited into a “Rainy Day fund” will make life a lot easier when a short term financial crisis or rainy day happens.
Most of us are following this principal by saving into Kiwisaver, to provide for our long term retirement needs. The same principal applies to short & medium term savings. Pay yourself first is a great lesson to teach your children.“
In a recent article written by Consilium they are discussing why your kids ask for financial help in their 30s.
