Matt has been involved in the insurance industry since 2002 having worked in both Auckland and Christchurch markets. Matt has previously held roles as a Claims Consultant, Commercial Loss Adjuster, and has been an insurance broker since 2006.

Prior to joining Amicus in December 2014 Matt was the Financial and Professional Risks Manager for an international broking company specialising in liability insurances and was responsible for placing programmes for local, national, governmental, and international clients, both locally and globally.

Matt is a Senior Associate of the Australian Institute of Insurance and Finance, a Certified Insurance Professional, and was a finalist in the IBANZ Emerging Professional Broker of the Year in 2012.

Matt is originally from Christchurch and away from work he is keen on the outdoors, plays golf, and is an avid follower of most sports having played senior Cricket and Football.

Samantha is a Financial Adviser (Broker) and she is giving financial advice under Amicus Brokers Limited.

Samantha joined Amicus in January 2023. Samantha has a significant amount of experience in domestic insurance, as she has worked in the industry for the past 8 years within both the Direct Insurers and Broker networks.

Being a North Canterbury resident, Samantha enjoys being at the local rivers and beaches, going on brunch dates, and chasing after her spirited wee girl Ruby.

Tom is an Investment Adviser (FSP1001522) under Amicus Group Limited and he is giving investment advice on behalf of Wealthpoint Limited.

Tom Stanley joined Amicus in June 2021 and is specializing in investment advice. After working as a Structural Engineer during the Canterbury Earthquake recovery (and playing some rugby on the side), Tom landed a seat on the front line of financial markets in London and more recently Hong Kong. His roles in markets spanned from Prime Brokerage Sales to Equity Sales Trading, and more recently Prime and Delta One Sales Trading with Citibank in London and Hong Kong.

Having traded with Hedge Funds, Asset Managers and Pension Funds through the Hong Kong protests and the COVID-19 pandemic in Hong Kong, Tom decided to move back to New Zealand in early 2021 to start a family with his wife Candice. Tom’s technical background, and experience in financial markets, will be leveraged to provide Amicus clients data driven and bespoke investment advice that meets their investment needs.

Outside of investments, Tom enjoys spending time with his family, travelling, eating good food and working off the calories either running, cycling or playing rugby.

Joanne has been with the Amicus Group since its inception and has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. Her current role is Financial Adviser Support, and she is also responsible for the administration of the Amicus investment book.

Joanne is committed to providing high-quality service to clients to ensure that their requirements are attended to. She enjoys problem-solving and assisting people with any difficulties they may have with any administration issues.

Joanne is married, with 3 adult children, and enjoys running and mountain biking.

Jennifer joined Amicus at the start of 2019, after completing a bachelor’s degree majoring in economics and finance.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her friends and family, trail running and kayaking. After placing in the Coast to Coast Mountain Run, her goal is now to complete the 2 Day Individual event.

Ivy joined the Amicus team in November 2022 and looks forward to advancing her knowledge in the insurance industry. She recently moved back to Christchurch after graduating a Commerce degree, majoring in Marketing and Psychology at the University of Otago.

In Ivy’s spare time she loves exploring the outdoors, taking her dog to the beach, travelling and spending time with her friends and family.

Lisa has more than 25 years insurance claims experience, having worked for a major insurer in the technical claims space, handling large and/or complex claims before moving to a brokerage in 2020 to advocate for clients.  Lisa lives with her partner and their teenager on a lifestyle block, with a keen interest in sustainability and self-sufficiency.

Haylie is a Financial Adviser (Broker) and she is giving financial advice under Amicus Brokers Limited.

Haylie joined Amicus in 2006 and has recently returned from extended maternity leave. She brings to Amicus a high level of attention to detail, efficient and friendly customer service.

Saskia is a Financial Adviser (Broker) and she is giving financial advice under Amicus Brokers Limited.

Saskia joined the Amicus team in May of 2021 as our Receptionist. She had recently graduated from high school and worked in customer service for a number of years. She thoroughly enjoys speaking to clients and assisting them in receiving the best possible outcome. Saskia is keen to expand her knowledge in the insurance industry and in April 2022 took the opportunity to move into the Personal Lines Team.

In her spare time, she enjoys catching up with friends, spending time with family, and taking her dog to the beach.

Marilyn joined the Amicus Group in October 2011. She returned to full time employment after having worked in the Legal environment for 20 years and having had other part time positions while her children were growing up. Her current role is as Financial Adviser Support, working as a personal assistant to advisers and ensuring that Amicus clients receive the best level of service.

She loves working at Amicus with people who are passionate and committed to the growth of the business. Marilyn enjoys spending time with her family, going to the movies, family holidays and a good book with a glass of wine.

Raelyn joined Amicus in 2017, having worked in various accounting roles over a number of years including for KPMG in both Dunedin and London, and a couple of company accounting roles in Christchurch.

Raelyn is married with two sons. Outside of work she enjoys walking for exercise and has completed a few ‘events'. She also enjoys supporting her son’s sports, which involves spending hours on the side-line in the summer watching cricket.

Regan brings to Amicus 30 years of Fire and General insurance experience having started at State Insurance in 1991 followed by time with Tokio Marine both overseas and in New Zealand. Regan has been at a large nationwide broking house for the last 13 years.

Regan joined Amicus Brokers in May 2021 to take on the role of Broker and as a partner of the company.

In his spare time he enjoys dirt bike riding and spending time with his partner and teenage children.

Georgia joined Amicus at the beginning of 2021 after living in England for two years; changing her career to embark in the insurance industry having previously worked for a government agency.  After two years in the Personal Lines Team as a Domestic Broker, she has recently moved into a new roll in the Commercial and Rural Support Team.

Nick specialises in the implementation of strategic risk advice in the Rural, Commercial and SME Business sector, along with having several years’ experience managing group insurance business across the country.

David has been providing his clients with investment and insurance advice since 1992. David provides a regular review service to his clients to ensure their planning is on track and meeting the needs of changing circumstances. In 1997 Amicus Group was formed with a number of like-minded advisers. They have specialised their advice to enhance the service they can offer their clients.

Amicus uses a fact findings process in both investment and insurance. They are looking to point out areas that may be leaving clients and their families at risk.

Chrissie is a Claims Consultant who recently joined the Amicus team in October 2022.

Chrissie has many years of experience in customer service, some of which has allowed her to travel the world whilst working on superyachts. She is currently working towards her Level 5 Financial Services Certificate.

Outside of work Chrissie enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her young daughter and partner.

Rachael is a Financial Adviser (Broker), and she is giving financial advice under Amicus Brokers Limited.

After living on a large farm whilst working for a leading New Zealand bank on the West Coast and having previously worked for a leading Brokerage and New Zealand Insurance Company, Rachael has returned to Canterbury and re-joins the Amicus team as a Broker. Rachael will be based in Ashburton and is ready to help the local community with their insurance needs. Rachael strives to build long lasting relationships by providing excellent service with personalised advice to ensure you, your family, and business have the best protection in place tailored specifically to your needs.

Rachael brings back a wealth of knowledge of the insurance and finance industries and holds a Certificate of Financial Services as well a Diploma in Agricultural Management.

Outside of work Rachael is kept busy by her two young sons and is keen to hit the outdoors as often as possible.

Greg is a Financial Adviser (FSP55181) under Amicus Group Limited and he is giving financial advice on behalf of Wealthpoint Limited.

Greg has been providing clients with insurance and investment advice since 1977.  In 1996 he co-founded Amicus Group Limited with Andrew Sloane.

Greg specialises in investment & retirement planning advice. He formulates strategies with clients forecasting retirement needs and how to prudently spend money once retirement has been reached. He also has a broad knowledge of the business insurance and disability market.

He is married to Anne and they have two adult children. Greg's interests are following rugby and participating in tramping, cycling, and golf. His hobbies include cooking, wine tasting, and travel. Ideally incorporating all three at once.

Stewart has worked in the insurance industry since 1995 in various claims, underwriting and broking positions with major international insurers, brokers, as well as a large locally owned broking house.

Stewart joined Amicus Brokers in June 2013 to take on the role of Business Development Director and as a partner of the company. Stewart heads the Amicus Construction Risk Practice area of the company. Prior to joining Amicus Brokers, he was employed by QBE Insurance in various positions with the most recent being the senior position of South Island Business Development Manager.

Stewart is well known for his ability to "think outside of the square" and for his innovative approach to the placing of insurance programs. These attributes were recognised in 2010 when Stewart was a finalist for IBANZ "Emerging Insurer of the Year". Rebecca has been with Amicus since 2009 working in various supporting roles until becoming a member of the claims team in 2012. She is committed to helping clients through the claims process making it as stress-free and easy as possible.

Rebecca is married with two children. In her spare time, she is kept busy with her children’s activities such as swimming, rugby, surf lifesaving, and touch rugby. She also enjoys gardening and cooking.

Ella joined the Amicus team in November 2022 as our Receptionist/Administration Support.

She has changed her career path towards the insurance industry after being in hospitality since high school. She is keen to learn the ins and outs of insurance to give the best possible help to clients.

Outside of work Ella enjoys beach trips with her friends and their dogs, going home to visit her family, and watching the occasional medical drama show.

Lina originally joined Amicus in September 2020 as an Financial Adviser Support and has since then moved into a new role as the Project & UX Manager for Amicus Group. She comes from a strong background in customer service, management, design and process improvement. She is outcome focused, creative and has strong organizational skills. Her main focus is reviewing day to day processes within the company and how to provide personalised advice at scale.

Lina is originally from Stockholm, Sweden but been living in Christchurch with her partner since 2016. Lina has worked around the world including Sweden, Australia, South Africa, Costa Rica and now New Zealand.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with partner and dog, going for walks with friends and exploring New Zealand’s beautiful nature.

Karen has worked in the insurance industry since 1986, and for the last 20 years as a Broker with Amicus. Having enjoyed creating insurance solutions for our commercial and rural clients, she has now moved into a management role to oversee the day to day running of the business.

Heather joined the Amicus Brokers Limited team in June 2022. She brings with her over 25 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Neave joined the team in August 2023 following 2 years working as a Business Support Consultant at FMG Insurance.  She has also been studying towards a degree in the Bachelor of Health Sciences at the University of Canterbury.  Neave moved to Christchurch in 2020 from Pleasant Point in South Canterbury and is looking forward to further developing her skills and experience in the insurance industry.

Andrew has been advising clients since 1985 and is passionate about providing clients with quality advice. He has worked with clients from all walks of life. Andrew works predominantly with rural clients advising them on Life insurance needs and farm package insurance.

Tracey joined Amicus Brokers in March 2022. She brings with her several years’ experience in the insurance industry, prides herself on attention to detail, and likes problem-solving.

Kylie joined Amicus Group as a Financial Adviser Support in early August 2022.

She has a strong background in administration and customer service, having spent 15 years working in the tourism industry as part of a close-knit family business.

Kylie is organised and motivated, with a keen eye for detail, and she greatly enjoys being part of the Amicus Group team. She is also pursuing a New Zealand Diploma in Business (Marketing and Sales).

When not at work, Kylie enjoys travelling, gardening, especially growing vegetables, cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Jason has been working at a large nationwide broking house for the last 12 years, and prior to that working within the rural insurance sector.

Jason enjoys getting out and meeting clients to learn about their business and putting together an insurance solution fit for purpose.

Jason is a keen sports fan and spends a lot of winter supporting his local rugby club and watching his son playing competition grade rugby. In his spare time Jason enjoys home DIY and catching up with friends & family.

George joined Amicus in 2020 in the capacity of a Commercial Broker after several years of gaining experience with a leading Insurer and a large corporate broking house.

George is an enthusiastic people person who enjoys building strong relationships with his clients and tailoring suitable insurance products to their needs.

A very successful career as a hockey player having represented Canterbury for several years and the New Zealand Black Sticks on multiple occasions. George still enjoys developing skills in younger players and encouraging people into the game.
